• The acquisition of two semi-automatic book scanners was completed and the scanning protocol, the management of document image collections and metadata were developed.
  • A representative dataset (over 100,000 document images) was selected for scanning, focusing on document diversity, color features and layout. An automatic calibration test of the retroconversion process was run to find the best solutions and parameter sets.
  • An initial prototype of the retrofit system was built, including all the basic functions and ensuring the export of documents in PDF format, preserving the original appearance and preserving the meta-information.
  • New scientific articles have been elaborated, reaching a total of 14, of which 5 ISI, in the first 2 stages.
